What  is THCa?
THCa, or tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, is one of the first cannabinoids naturally produced by the cannabis, or hemp, plant. Unlike Delta 9 THC, the psychoactive effects of THCa must be activated through decarboxylation, the process of heating it up. This can be done using a lighter, torch, or vaporizer. Once THCa is decarboxylated, it converts into Delta 9 THC and produces a traditional “high.” Delta 9 interacts with the CB1 and CB2 receptors of the endocannabinoid system similarly to Delta 8 THC, Delta 10 THC, HHC, THCP, and THCB to produce an uplifting, euphoric mood sometimes accompanied with increased energy. Delta 9 THC is also known for its anxiolytic (anti-anxiety), antiemetic (anti-nausea), analgesic (pain relieving), orexigenic (appetite stimulant) and neuroprotective properties.

What is THCa flower?
THCa flower is cultivated specifically for unique mood states and terpenes. Each one has a unique terpene profile that creates individual psychoactive mood states after being smoked or vaped. Some consumers find a higher concentration of beta-myrcene creates a fun giggly mood state, while others find humulene creates an enjoyable talkative mood state. This natural decarboxylation process releases the acid from tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCa) leaving behind the THC that many people associate with cannabis.
