So, what is Delta-10-THC? Delta-10-THC is one of the 100+ cannabinoids found in the cannabis, or hemp, plant. Like other cannabinoids, it interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system to produce a psychotropic effect. Delta-10-THC interacts with the nervous system similarly to other cannabinoids like Delta-8-THC, Delta-9-THC, Delta 6a10a THC, and HHC, to produce an uplifting, euphoric effect with increased focus and energy. Consumers compare its effects to the Sativa-dominant strains of cannabis. Delta-10-THC is also known for its anxiolytic (anti-anxiety), antiemetic (anti-nausea), analgesic (pain relieving), orexigenic (appetite stimulant) and neuroprotective properties.
What is Delta-10?
Delta-10-THC, also called Delta-10, or D10 for short, is a cannabinoid. On a molecular level, it’s almost identical to Delta-9-THC, which is what people typically talk about when they talk about THC.
So, what distinguishes Delta-10-THC from Delta-9-THC when discussing “THC” in the context of marijuana? Without getting too deep into the technical chemistry, the difference generally comes down to two things:
- Delta-10-THC generally has less bioavailability than Delta-9-THC. In other words, it generally produces somewhat less of an effect on the human body. Some consumers say that D10 THC has the same results, but you might have to smoke or eat slightly more to have the same experience.
- Another significant difference is that D10 THC is legal in many places where marijuana has been prohibited. This isn’t as much of an issue now because marijuana has been legalized in many parts of the United States. Still, try telling that to someone who lives in a place where marijuana is illegal! Many people like to buy Delta-10-THC online because they don’t have access to legal marijuana dispensaries where they live.
What’s the difference between Delta-8 and Delta-10?
It is necessary first to recognize the similarities between D8 and D10 in order to gain a better understanding of their differences. After all, the common characteristics far outnumber the differences between these two cannabinoids. For example, most of them are cannabinoids that are legal on a national level in the United States (as long as they come from legal hemp).
To make sense of this point, it becomes relevant that there’s a distinction between marijuana and hemp at this point in American history. Cannabis with less than 0.3% Delta-9-THC by weight is considered hemp, while cannabis with higher levels of Δ9 THC is considered marijuana. The legal status of marijuana varies from state to state in the United States; while many states have legalized its medicinal use, decriminalized it, or both, there are still other states where it remains strictly illegal.
The difference between hemp and marijuana is responsible for much of the distinction between D8, D9, and D10 THC. Delta-9-THC is the active chemical in marijuana, which lawmakers refer to when discussing the legal status of marijuana compared to hemp. This distinction might not make much sense if you haven’t been following the legal status of marijuana in the United States for very long, and that’s totally fair!
The central fact is that D8 and D10 are legal on a federal level in the United States unless your local government has made specific laws to prohibit these cannabinoids. D9 THC is still prohibited on a national level, though it’s been legalized or decriminalized in certain areas.
When it comes to legal cannabis products, there’s an additional complication to consider. Some of these products combine Delta-8-THC and Delta-10-THC. However, as long as the plant used to make these products contains less than 0.3% Delta-9-THC, they’re considered legal throughout the United States. This means that many cannabis products legally available in the country may contain a mix of Delta-8-THC and Delta-10-THC as long as they follow the legal limit on Delta-9-THC.
Is Delta-10 safe to consume?
Delta-10-THC is safe to consume in the same way that any other type of THC is safe to consume. We haven’t heard any reports of overdoses or anything similar. Most people have the same opinion of D10 as they do of D8 or D9 THC, so it comes down to your stance on THC in general. The most important factor to consider is whether the D10 products you purchase have been tested in a laboratory to make sure they are free from any contaminants that may be hazardous to your health.
What are the effects of Delta-10?
Most people who like D10 say it’s just like the “normal” kind of THC but a little less potent. Some of our customers say it’s extremely energizing for them. For example, some people have said D10 is more uplifting while D8 is more relaxing. Ultimately, the experience is different for everyone.
