What is THCa?
THCa, or tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, is one 120+ cannabinoids that are naturally produced by the cannabis, or hemp, plant, and it is the precursor to the well known tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THCa is unique because it does not produce a psychoactive experience when ingested. Instead, this cannabinoid must be decarboxylated to produce the traditional “high.” This is a process of heating THCa using a lighter, torch, or vaporizer so it will convert into Delta 9 THC. Delta 9 interacts with the CB1 and CB2 receptors of the endocannabinoid system similarly to other cannabinoids like Delta 8 THC, Delta 10 THC, HHC, THCP, and THCB, to produce an uplifting, euphoric effect with increased focus and energy.
