Cannabidivarian (CBDV) is the primary cannabinoid found in cannabidiol (CBD). In fact, CBD and CBDV have a similar structure that can be difficult to differentiate in lab tests. They have the same chemical formula but differ in the three-dimensional arrangement of their atoms.

CBDV interacts primarily with the body’s CB2 receptors within the endocannabinoid system. It also has the ability to antagonize the transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 1 (TRPV1). This property gives CBDV unique potential health benefits.

The CB1 receptor is not interacted with much at all by CBDV. As a result, most consumers do not experience any kind of psychoactivity. However, studies have shown potential health benefits, such as anti-nausea, pain relief, and anti-inflammation while enhancing myotube production in muscles.
